I’ve been feeling very stressed out and overwhelmed and it’s really making me so upset I just want to laid down and sleep. Anyway, do you anything I can do to release all this stress and overwhelming? because it’s driving me crazy.

thanks.

music is great for calming down maybe classical or whatever type makes you feel good and takes your mind of things. Maybe you need to feel the pain for a while to overcome it crying is good sometimes crying is refreshing.

Try doing exercise. Just find something you like to do and do it. Exercising in groups is allot more fun than alone too. Groups are all over and without too much cost too. Your local community center and/or Y can tell you where and what types of groups they have. Everything from aerobics to even chair and water exercise are all fun and a great way to relieve stress. Go to anyplace like 24/7 hour fitness or LA fitness and ask for a trial membership for a group exercise. Not only is this a good way to find out what type you like, but taking a friend can be fun too. Just try it for 2 weeks. I guarantee you’ll love the endorphin rush along with the loss of all that stress. Good luck and God Bless

Unfortunately, there is no magic bullet for reducing stress and treating depression and anxiety. But, one effective treatment combination has shown, time and time again, its efficacy in treating emotional complaints such as yours. The treatment is combination medication and psychotherapy.

What you have described here paints a picture of someone who feels overwhelmed and depression. And because of that, situations that may not, on a regular day, seem stressful is very stressful.

So, it would be most helpful if you can connect with a mental health professional so that you can have more detailed evaluation and assessment for your complaints.

Psychotherapy works quite well in controlling obsessive thoughts to deal with compulsive behaviors in OCD, but literature have shown over and over again that psychotherapy in conjunction with a bit of medication has the best outcome and is the most efficacious in treating OCD. So, that’ something you and your mental health professional should consider.

In terms of letting your mother know of your progress, therapy is not performance and the progress is not graded. Knowing that, you should discuss with your mother how you are doing so that you can receive any additional treatment tham may help you even more.

If this is something that you feel uncomfortable discussing with your mother alone, you can as your therapist to invite her to one of your sessions to dicuss your progress.

    I hope this was helpful.
