Stress during Pregnancy?
February 20th, 2009 | by Anthony |brittlynn asked:
I am 8 months pregnant and dealing with an abundant deal of stress right now. I do not work, so it has nothing to do with that. Are there any stress relief techniques that I could do to help relieve some of the stress? Please don’t tell me to talk to someone because that clearly hasn’t worked. I am ready to punch something…. I have to control this because I will not jeopardize the health of my son.

When I get stressed, I close my eyes and take the biggest breath possible, and slowly exhale, all yoga i know, but it works. Also when I used to get mad, I got a huge bouncy ball and I’d throw it on the ground as hard as I could and picture all of my rage going in that ball and shatter into a million pieces when it hit the floor. Also, it helps just to vent to yourself, just sit alone and tell yourself everything that stresses you out.

Yoga…seriously, not only will it help you in labor (breathing techniques & the stretches) but it seriously does help relieve stress, also try taking a nice warm (not hot) bath.

WOW your allready 8 months along. Time sure flies. I remember you saying you were just pregnant. I am sorry your having stress I know that is hard to deal with. Maybe these tips can help you. I know easier said then done. You know I had a friend whose Psy dr told her to go home and hit her bed with her tennis racket and scream as loud as she can when she feels stressed. But when your pregnant I guess you can’t do that. But maybe you can set and hit a pillow or somthing. or at least scream.
Tips for dealing with stress
Don’t worry about things you can’t control, such as the weather.
Prepare to the best of your ability for events you know may be stressful, such as a job interview.
Try to look at change as a positive challenge, not as a threat.
Work to resolve conflicts with other people.
Talk with a trusted friend, family member or counselor.
Set realistic goals at home and at work.
Exercise on a regular basis.
Eat well-balanced meals and get enough sleep.
Meditate.
Participate in something you don’t find stressful, such as sports, social events or hobbies.
