Drum roll please, Stupidity Awards. A little stress relief:-)?

It’s time for the Annual “Stella Awards”. For those unfamiliar with these awards, they are named after Stella ***, who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald’s in New Mexico. You remember, she took the lid off and put the coffee between her knees while driving. Who would ever think one could get burned that way?
This years First Place Stell Award winner was Mrs Merv ****, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who purchased a 32 foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, she set the cruise control on 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat, to make herself a sandwich.
Did you hear me? She left the seat to make herself a sandwich!!!
Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed, and over turned. Also, not surprising, she sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner’s manuel that she couldn’t leave the drivers seat while the cruise control was set.
The Oklahoma Jury awarded her—-your setting down, right?–1,750.000 PLUS a new motorhome!!
Jade, not a smart move. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of this suit, in case the Mrs has any relatives who might also buy a motor home.

Never heard of the “Stella” awards…but I am guessing that the “Stellas” are runner-ups for my favorite award—the Darwin Award. Heard of that?? If not, the Darwin awards are given to “the person who does the human race the biggest favor by removing himself/herself from the gene pool” —in other words, the person who manages to die in the most extreme act of stupidity gets the award.(Think something along the lines of, “Do not operate blow dryer in the shower”!!!) I never heard of any Darwin award winners making money due to their actions, though!!

I think this world is going crazy. Why should someone be awarded money for not using common sense? I just absolutely don’t get this world these days. ugh!

she apparently lacked something called common sense, anybody with have an ounce of brains would know better than to get out of the seat to make a sandwich! Nobody should get paid for shear stupidity!
