Can anyone suggest what helps constant stress related neck & shoulder pain?

Sherry asked:

I am a 38 year old mom of three - ages 11, 7, and 2. My husband is also a trucker who’s gone alot leaving me to deal with ALL that goes on around here by myself! Some days are better than others - but by the end of the day my neck and shoulders hurt so bad I can barely stand it! I can feel the knots and sometimes getting rubbed (when he’s home) helps but it’s never very often that I get rubbed. My MD prescribed at my request Valium 5mg 2X’s daily - but I’m finding myself taking more than that now! I have been taking 3-4 pills sometimes all at once (up to 20mg total) and can barely feel the relief anymore like I did the first month I started on them? I’m not addicted cause I don’t need them every day - just need something REAL strong to help out when I DO need something. NO HEALTH INSURANCE doesn’t help so I need affordable meds like the valium - they’re cheap. I have a real high tolerance for pain meds - I know my body & I’m NOT a druggie - any suggestions for new meds?

A good professional massage would definitely help relax your shoulders and muscles and help you feel better. If you can afford to do this I would recommend you get one.

the best medication to remove anxiety and stress is Xanax. Ask your doctor if you can have a prescription of this.

Chamomile Tea Is excellent for calming down stress. Drink this throughout the day.

A good professional massage would help. Also, you might want to try ThermaCare; they really helped my muscle soreness.
