Should I take a demotion?

July 11th, 2009 | by Anthony |

Ashlee!! asked:

I fought for 16 months for an asst. mangement postion. And now that I have it, I **** it! I never see my daugther and I’m also pregnant with my second child. The stress level is high and the shifts really ****. The ONLY good thing about it is the pay. Should I ask for a demotion and go back to my old store and postion? And how would I go about asking for that?

    Well you need to schedule a private meeting with your supervisor and let him/her know that you being pregnant has caused too much stress; its affecting your home life and you feel that its better to remain in the position that you were previously in;

    Express your gratitude for the opportunity of being given the chance but it’s too much for you to handle at this time…

    An employer may sense that you’re not happy and may start looking for your replacement. Be careful.
